We are creating a new Mount Royal Light flavor and we need your help! Throughout the month of May fans can vote on what flavor they want to be next up. Which one would you like to try? Peach, Lime, Vanilla, Cherry or Honey!

What do you get for voting? Why a cool Mount Royal Light prize of course! And I make good on my prize promises! Just ask a past winner!

10 Odd New Year’s Resolutions

THE ODDS AN ADULT WILL MAKE A NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTION ARE 1 in 2.56.

There are some truly odd new year’s resolutions that people have made! Here are a few that I found just through Google or from people that I know!

1. Resolve to enter a sweepstakes every day.

Believe it or not, some people just LOVE sweepstakes! Hopefully they include Mount Royal Light’s contests in there! I suppose this is a goal that could yield a lot of goodies! The more you enter, the more chances you have to win is the thinking behind this.

2. Learn useless facts.

Once you conquer the art of having a retentive memory you can be like “Bones” intern Mr. Vincent Nigel-Murray and spout endless facts and eventually win a million dollars on Jeopardy!

3. Get literate.

Learn the difference between you’re and your, then and than, and its, it’s, and its’. The world will thank you.

4. Never stand on carpet barefoot again.

Now that just sounds like a phobia. But maybe it’s just a cleanliness thing? What about people who ask you to take your shoes off at the door? This would be impossible at my house since I have carpet everywhere. I’d have to do what I do at the gym or in locker rooms: stand on my shoes while I’m changing socks. ::shudders:: locker room floors, yuck.

5. Invent a new trend or bring back an old one.

The example I found online was experimenting with a school uniform by “wearing trousers lower, ties thinner or knotted differently. How about wearing the blazer or jumper at weekends? Make that uniform cool.” A friend posted on Facebook the other day,

“I would like to single-handedly bring back the thankful hand wave when someone lets you merge.”

No pun intended.

6. Start a collection of something out of the ordinary.

As long as it’s not hair or toe nail clippings, we think collections are cool!

7. Pick a specific word to say every day.

Woof. Tongs. Indubitably. Underpants. Feller. Rigmarole. Try to make a sentence that includes all of those words!

8. Say yes to everything that is asked of you or to everyone who asks you out.

This could be dangerous. Just take it from Carl in the movie “Yes Man” with Jim Carrey. He gets into some pretty sticky situations because he can’t say no. This could also turn out way better than you expect.

9. Become a world record holder.

In 2005, I “kicked my way into the Guinness Book of World Records” and was part of the longest kickline. That record may or may not have been broken since, but it was still a cool experience.

10. Every time you see someone wearing glasses – Poke them.

This is an odd one I found on a Yahoo message board. But I felt it fit the “odd” resolution category. Your near-sighted boss or grandma may get irritated with you but I guess you’ll have the satisfaction of keeping your resolution. Or you could keep this to Facebook and just be the online creeper instead of the real-life creeper!

What is your New Year’s Resolution? Share it with us in the comments, odd or not!

My Day at the Zoo by Guest Blogger Hillary B.

I was thrilled to be the winner of the Mount Royal Light’s zoo pass giveaway. Going to the Milwaukee County Zoo – for free! I called my mom and we made a whole day out if it! It was a perfect way to say goodbye to the summer weather.

Going to the zoo brings back many memories for both my mom and me. The zoo always reminds me of prom (yes, my school had prom at the zoo). And according to my mom, the zoo always reminds her of pushing a heavy stroller around in 90-degree heat. Sorry mom!

We passed the Zoo’s signature peacocks meandering through the forests, a flamingo with a cast on its leg, and a cute little duck in the bird exhibit. We even went through the “Dinosaurs Alive” exhibit and saw all the robotic dinosaurs in their pre-historic glory. Tigers are my favorite animals, and luckily, we came to their cage just as they were getting back from feeding time. They were very frisky and lively, searching their cages for any treats the zookeepers left behind. At one point, a tiger came to where I was standing and its head was only a few feet away from me through the glass. When I realized this was probably as close to a tiger as I would ever be in my life, I thought that was an amazing experience.

At the end of the day, I realized some things never change. Twenty years later, I can still have a great day at the zoo with my mom just like when I was five. The penguins will always smell bad, the otters will always make me laugh, and for a few dollars, I can always get a Mold-O-Rama of a crocodile.

Another thing that will never change is my love for Mount Royal Light! Thanks so much for a wonderful day at the zoo!!

A beary special treat

They’re oh so beary special! We got the four of the Mount Royal Light Wildlife Series mirrors in this month! I’ve been raffling them off at the Mount Royal Light Parties we’ve been having in August! (Future post to come about all of those.) Aren’t those little cubs adorbs?

My husband and I started drinking Mount Royal Light a year ago. Mount Royal Light is perfect for an Old Fashion; it is smooth and has less alcohol content. We are big Packer fans and like to have a shot when they score a touchdown. We came up with the perfect shot, Maple infused Mount Royal Light Rye Whisky. Mix 2 parts Mount Royal Light Rye Whisky with 1 part pure Maple Syrup; you have to use the best pure Maple Syrup you can buy. We mix a batch up about 3 months prior to football season, store it in the refrigerator, shake it up once a week and by first game it is ready!

I am attaching a few photos, one of me enjoying a Mount Royal Light Old Fashion at the 21 Gun Saloon in Denmark, WI and a few pictures of our family’s After Bender Golf outing, named so because it is the day after Johnsonville’s Pretzel Bender festival. For the past 10 years we have had a family golf outing on the first Tuesday after the 4th of July. This year we had a total of 28 people, 18 golfers and 10 that came to join us for lunch. We all enjoyed using and showing off our cool Mount Royal Light golf towels!
